Item Toward A Better Understanding Of Speech-Language Disorders In African Countries: The Case Of Speech Sound Disorders In Cameroon(2019-10-28) Takam, AurélieChild speech and language disorders are not well known in many African countries. The aim of this study was to analyze speech sound disorders in Cameroon in order to encourage the rehabilitation of language disorders in general in the public health system. From a sample of 1127 children, 6\% of children presented with speech sound disorders including speech delays, articulation and phonological disorders. Boys were more affected than girls. Complex syllables and fricatives sounds were the most impaired while omission and substitution were the most frequent errors
